Keionte Scott is a 6’0”, 185 lb cornerback coming out of the University of Miami. Prior to Miami, he was an unranked recruit according to 247 Sports, coming out of Helix High School in La Mesa, California. He committed to Snow College in Utah, where he amassed 27 tackles, 5.5 TFL, and 3 interceptions. This led him to become a 4 Star recruit, the #4 JUCO recruit, and the #1 CB, according to 247Sports, and a JUCO All-American, after which he committed to Auburn University. He played there from 2022-2024, and in that time, he earned a spot on the 2024 Paul Hornung Award Watch List, which put him in elite company as one of college football’s most versatile players. He was also the SEC’s leading punt returner in 2023. After three seasons at Auburn, he entered the transfer portal before ultimately committing to Miami, where he was a 2025 Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist, 2025 Cotton Bowl Defensive MVP, and earned 2025 All-ACC Second-Team honors. In his FBS career, he amassed 177 tackles (128 solo), 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 3 interceptions, and 2 touchdowns. He also had 526 return yards and 1 touchdown.

Keionte Scott is one of the more unique prospects in this year’s draft class. He is best in zone coverage over man coverage and consistently gets good depth and stays in his zone. He is most effective when defending closer to the line of scrimmage. While he is solid in zone, he does struggle in man coverage. His biggest issue is that he opens his hips too quickly against receivers with good releases, which allows the receiver to create more separation. Scott’s best ability is his blitzing, and I believe he is by far the best blitzing defensive back in this draft class. He has great speed and athleticism that can be utilized in disguised blitzes and stunts, and he has a great ability to attack the quarterback both up the middle and off the edge. He uses his great athleticism and explosiveness to get downhill and limits the run and quick screens. He has a very aggressive mindset and is willing to put in effort every single down. He will not only do his job in the pass game, but will consistently take on blocks and fight in the run game as well.

Scott has one of the biggest upsides out of anyone in this year’s class. If he can become even a league-average defender in man coverage, he could easily become one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. However, he could just as easily become a huge liability for a defense if he were to not settle in defensively.

Scheme Fit and Team Fit: Seattle Seahawks

Keionte Scott’s blitzing ability is undeniable, and if he could find his way into a Seattle defense that utilizes the corner blitz very well at a high rate, it not only would allow him to thrive in that system but the other defensive backs surrounding him, such as Devon Witherspoon and Julian Love, could help act as a mask for his lackluster man coverage skills.

NFL Player Comp: Trent McDuffie

Both McDuffie and Scott have great ability in blitzing, aggressiveness, and athleticism. While McDuffie is better in coverage compared to Scott, he has just as much potential to become just as good if not better.

Projection: League Average Starter

Scott has all the athleticism and potential to be a high-end starter in the league someday, but due to his blitzing ability and athleticism alone, he can very easily be an average day 1 starter for an NFL team.

Grade and Round Projection: 4.84, 3rd Round Pick
