Daylen Everette is a 6’1, 196-pound DB prospect from the University of Georgia. The 21-year-old played his high school football at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Prior to playing at IMG Academy, he also played at Norview High School in Virginia. Everette grew up in an athletic family alongside his brother, who is a linebacker at Elon University. A 5-star prospect in the 2022 class, Everette originally committed to Clemson before deciding he wanted to play in the SEC and committed to Georgia. The close relationship with defensive backs coach Jahmile Addae and the opportunity to play for Kirby Smart influenced Everette’s decision. At Georgia, he would start 2 years. He would play special teams his first few years, and see situational snaps before settling into his role as the starting DB. His stats consist of 2022: 13 TOT, 2023: 29 TOT, 5 PD, 1 INT, 2024: 58 TOT, 3 PD, 1 SACK, 2 FF, 3 INT, 2025: 49 TOT, 8 PD, 1 INT

He is a strong athlete with great size for a corner, posting a 4.38 40-yard dash and a 37.5-inch vertical jump at the NFL combine. He also posted great measurements, including a 31 ⅞ arm length, making it easy to get his hands on the football, as his stats and film show he deflects many passes. He has great fluidity in his hips that allows him to plant and break on cuts to maintain tight coverage on WRs.
Everette is a willing and aggressive tackler, often blowing through screens and maintaining his aggressiveness against the run. Although he is aggressive, he is a high tackler, a technique that needs improvement. He often plays on the outside, matching up with WRs and playing good press coverage. He chucks WRs and uses his build to get WRs off balance. In coverage, Everette is best in man coverage while pressing. He is solid at playing zone, too, with experience from playing in a complex Georgia defensive system. He has good eye discipline and reads the quarterback’s eyes well. He has excellent ball skills, either deflecting or breaking up passes or intercepting them when he has opportunities. He tends to be grabby with his hands.
Overall, there’s a lot to like about Daylen Everette with great measurables, great ball skills, and man coverage skills. If coached up properly and trained under the wing of the right veterans, he has the potential for a long career in the NFL.
Scheme Fit and Team Fit
Georgia ran a base 3-4 with adaptability. Good fits for NFL teams include the Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and Baltimore Ravens. These teams either have familiarity with similar-style players or run a 3-4 defense that Everette could fit into. A situation where he can come in and be mentored by veterans would suit him best.
NFL Player Comp: Isaac Yiadom / Rock Ya Sin
This is a comparison because they have similarities. These are outside corners with similar size and arm length that have carved out long NFL careers. This also compares to what Everette’s role in the NFL will likely be.
Projection: Role Player/Backup
Boundary DB / DB4. Depending on roster size, NFL teams will carry 4 or 5 DB’s. Everette will have the opportunity as the backup outside corner, meaning if someone gets hurt, he can step in immediately. He can be a contributor in situational plays and on special teams. With 4.38 speed, he has gunner potential.
Grade and Round Projection: 3.9, Day 3 Pick
Everette graded out at 3.9, projecting to the 4th-5th rounds. A team will likely take a flyer on him as a young corner who can learn and fill in when needed. Everette provides speed and size at a position where the WR position is only getting faster.
