Domani Jackson is a 6’1, 180-pound corner from the University of Alabama. He is from San Diego, California. He started his career at USC but transferred to Alabama after his sophomore year, as he wasn’t seeing much playing time. He attended Mater Dei HS, where he was a standout track athlete. He tied the California state record in the 100 meters in his senior year. The only injury he had in college was a rib injury that took him out against South Carolina, but he returned later in that game.

Jackson is a long corner with a good frame that gives him an advantage when covering bigger receivers on the outside. He has good speed and fluid hips, which help him in coverage. Jackson also does a good job of mirroring routes from his opponents and also keeps his eye on the quarterback when in coverage. The film also shows Jackson looking at the quarterback to get a good trigger when he breaks off his routes to make plays on the football. He does get caught looking when he focuses on the quarterback and gets beat, especially in man, because he loses sight of his opponent. I did not see him really make a play on the ball when it was thrown his way, so I do question his ball skills. Jackson also proves to be a physical tackler in the open field. Overall, his measurables and speed make him a good prospect and give him the ability to play at the next level.

Quick Summary

A long physical corner that has good coverage skills. He also has a good trigger and shows he can make open-field tackles.

Scheme Fit and Team Fit: Heavy Zone Defense

He can hold his own in man coverage, but since he looks at what the quarterback does and breaks on the ball a lot, a team that runs a lot of zone coverage will be most effective for him. When he is out in coverage, he will have help from teammates in case lose sight of his opponent.

NFL Player Comp: Christian Gonzalez

They have a similar build and are proven man-coverage corners.

Projection: Special Teamer/Backup

He will be a serviceable backup player and can provide production on special teams.

Grade and Round Projection: 3.4, Day 3 Pick

I gave him a grade of 3.4 and believe he will be a Day 3 pick.
