KC (Kevin) Concepcion is a receiver who began his career at NC State (2023-2024) before transferring to Texas A&M for the 2025 season. The Charlotte, North Carolina native quickly established himself as a high-level playmaker, earning ACC Rookie of the Year honors in 2023 and later First-Team All-SEC and All-American recognition in 2025. At 5 ’11”, 190 pounds, Concepcion wins primarily with speed, burst, and short-area quickness rather than size. His production and versatility make him an intriguing projection as a modern offensive weapon at the next level. In 2024, a lingering foot injury limited his explosiveness, but he played every game. After transferring to Texas A&M in 2025, he briefly left an October game vs Florida with a hamstring issue and was also shaken up on a punt return vs Miami, returning both times. He played all 2025 regular-season games, showinga fast recovery from injuries.

From a processing standpoint, Concepcion shows good awareness and feel for the game. He does a strong job of uncovering when the quarterback extends plays and of transitioning quickly upfield once the ball is secured. His vision after the catch is a clear strength, allowing him to maximize yardage in space. However, his competitive consistency can go in and out, most notably when he recognizes the ball is not coming his way, at which point his route speed can drop off. Improving his every-snap urgency and play-to-play competitiveness will be important for his NFL development.
Physically, Concepcion’s game is built on elite short-area quickness, burst, and legitimate vertical speed. He consistently creates separation both underneath and down the field and shows the ability to win cleanly off the line of scrimmage. As a route runner, he is efficient and sudden, able to snap in and out of breaks and stress defenders with his pacing and acceleration. With the ball in his hands, he is shifty and dangerous, using vision and lateral quickness to generate yards after the catch. His hands are generally reliable, though he will show occasional drops when the defender is on him. As a blocker, the effort level is only adequate and remains an area for improvement. He will block if the ball is coming towards him, but sometimes will not be interested if the ball is going away from him.
Overall, KC Concepcion projects as a starting receiver with clear value as an offensive weapon. He has the speed to stretch the field vertically and can also be utilized on screens, where his quickness and vision going North/South allow him to create yards after the catch. His short-area burst and separation ability give quarterbacks a reliable option both underneath and over the top. If deployed properly, he can contribute early in his career. His impact will be maximized in an organization that understands how to scheme touches, move him around the formation, and fully leverage his playmaking skill set.
Scheme and Team Fit:
I believe KC will fit best in a balanced offensive scheme that effectively mixes the run and pass. When the defense creeps down to stop the run, the offense can use play-action to create explosive vertical opportunities, where KC has shown the speed to burn defenders down the field. His short-area quickness also makes him a valuable option on underneath routes and in space, and he has the ability to make people miss, giving the offense multiple ways to get him involved. I think that some teams that fit KC’s style are the Raiders, Rams, and the 49ers.
NFL Player Comparison: Brandin Cooks
Both are about the same height and weight and rely on speed to beat defenders. Like Cooks, KC Concepcion can threaten defenses vertically and go up to make plays on the ball despite not having elite size.
Projection: League Average Starter
If KC joins a team that uses his talents correctly, he can contribute early. He might not start as the primary receiver immediatel,y but could contribute effectively as part of a strong receiving corps
Grade and Round Projection: 4.9, Day 2 Pick
I think he can be a great player. While initially graded 4.7, I believe he’s slightly better and should be considered for the second or third round.
