My opinion on the new college football playoff bracket
- Ohio State – an easy schedule, but they have proven themselves week after week.
- Indiana had a bad game, and I don’t believe the hype. Watch for the fall off in the playoffs.
- Texas A&M- hard schedule, but this team is for real
- Alabama’s defense looks to be the best in the country, but the offense needs to find a run game.
- Georgia had a very tough schedule. This team bears a striking resemblance to the 2021 team.
- Ole Miss – tough schedule with a good loss to Georgia, but needs the QB to be a little more consistent.
- Texas Tech – I don’t believe the hype; they beat a BYU team that hasn’t played anyone.
- Oregon – tough fight with Iowa; besides them, the best win is Northwestern. Won’t go far
- Notre Dame, with two early losses, is not to be slept on. Watch out for them.
- Texas- seems to be finding its legs. Too young to make a significant impact.
- Georgia Tech – a bad loss, but a good team that needs to bounce back.
- South Florida- plays very well against good teams. Not the same USF team as last year, though.
How I believe the bracket will pan out if this is how it ends.
5. Georgia vs 12. South Florida – it wouldn’t be close; the Georgia team outmatches them in every category, and they are accustomed to being here.
6. Ole Miss vs 11. Georgia Tech- I believe this would be closer than expected. The Ole Miss defense has struggled, and with the QB/RB duo, the Hornets could be in trouble. I’m still gonna go with the rebels.
7. Texas Tech vs 10. Texas- I’m going with the underdog here. I believe they outmatch Tech in most, if not all, positions. Coaching is the difference; Texas would win the mental game and therefore get the win.
8. Oregon vs 9. Notre Dame – I’m going with the Fighting Irish in this one. I believe they have the ability to come out swinging and take an early lead, and from there, run away with the game, thanks to Jeremiah Love.
Second Round
- Ohio State vs 9. Notre Dame- Ohio State wins in a high-scoring shootout.
- Indiana vs 6. Ole Miss- Ole Miss wins in a no-contest sort of way.
- Texas A&M vs 10. Texas- Texas A&M wins in a no-contest.
- Alabama vs. Georgia – Alabama wins in a defensive battle.
Semi-finals
- Ohio State vs 4. Alabama- Alabama wins in a no-contest after a hot start
3. Texas A&M vs 6. Ole Miss- Ole Miss wins in a shootout with 50+ points.
National championship game
4. Alabama vs 6. Ole Miss- Ole Miss loses in overtime as ty simpson puts on a master class with 400+ yards.
