Jaydon Peete Can’t Be Caught as He Runs Toward Another Mr. Football Semifinalist Honor
For the second straight year, Milan High School’s Jaydon Peete has proven that consistency, leadership, and two-way dominance define his game. The senior standout was once again named a Tennessee Titans Class 2A Mr. Football semifinalist, an honor that cements his place among the state’s elite athletes.
Building on a Historic Legacy
Peete already made history in 2024 when he captured the Tennessee Titans Class 2A Mr. Football award, becoming just the third player in Milan history to do so. Now, as a repeat semifinalist, he joins an exclusive list that includes East Robertson’s Zach Groves and Kason Young, Fairley’s Andrew Johnson, and Lewis County’s Drew Ray. Each has carved out an impressive season, but few have matched the all-around production Peete has delivered.
Leading the Bulldogs to a Perfect Start
After guiding the Bulldogs to the Class 2A state championship game a year ago, Peete has once again led Milan to dominance.
The Bulldogs are off to a 9-0 start, capturing the Region 7-2A championship and establishing themselves as one of Tennessee’s top small-school programs. Peete’s influence extends well beyond his stat line; his leadership and composure have become the heartbeat of Milan’s success.
Numbers That Tell the Story
Defensively, Peete has recorded 82 total tackles in just eight games, including 59 solo stops, 13 tackles for loss, and a sack. He’s also been a playmaker in critical moments, notching three takeaways with two forced fumbles and one interception. On offense, he’s been equally explosive, rushing for 803 yards and 15 touchdowns on only 110 carries, while adding 173 receiving yards and two more scores. His ability to impact both sides of the ball speaks volumes about his athleticism and football IQ.
The Next Chapter: UT Martin Commitment
Peete’s next stop will most likely be UT Martin, where he’s expected to bring the same blend of power, speed, and leadership that made him a household name in West Tennessee. His commitment to the Skyhawks not only boosts their recruiting class but also represents another chapter in a storied career built on discipline and drive.
The Road to Nissan Stadium
The Mr. Football Award remains one of the state’s most prestigious honors, voted on by a statewide panel of sportswriters. The field will be narrowed to three finalists on November 25 during the Titans radio show, and the winners will be announced at Nissan Stadium on December 9. For Peete, it’s another chance to add to his legacy, and for Milan, another opportunity to celebrate one of the most complete athletes the program has ever produced.
