Graham Simpson Named Class 3A Mr. Football Semifinalist for Second Straight Year
Westview High School’s standout quarterback Graham Simpson has once again solidified his place among Tennessee’s elite. For the second consecutive season, the sophomore signal-caller has been named a Tennessee Titans Class 3A Mr. Football semifinalist, continuing his rapid rise as one of the most promising players in the state.
Leading the Charge at Westview
Simpson has become the driving force behind the Chargers’ success, leading Westview to a 9-0 start and the Region 7-3A championship. After guiding his team to the Class 3A state championship game last season, Simpson’s sophomore campaign has been even more efficient and dominant.
During the 2025 regular season, Simpson completed 140 of 175 passes, achieving an impressive 80 percent completion rate, for a total of 2,242 yards, 25 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. His dual-threat ability also continues to shine, adding 131 rushing yards on just 20 carries.
A Field Full of Talent
Simpson joins a strong semifinalist group that includes Melrose’s Thomas Heffner, Gatlinburg-Pittman’s Brayden Maples, Forrest’s Quincy Mitchell, and Chattanooga Prep’s Marquis Gardner. The competition highlights just how deep and talented Tennessee’s high school football scene has become.
The Next Level Beckons
Already holding 17 scholarship offers from top programs, including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Duke, Miami, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, UCLA, and Vanderbilt, Simpson’s recruitment continues to accelerate. His poise, accuracy, and leadership have caught the attention of scouts across the nation.
What’s Next
The Mr. Football award is a prestigious honor voted on by a committee of sportswriters from across the state. The list of semifinalists will be narrowed down to three finalists on November 25 during the Tennessee Titans Radio Show. Those three will be invited to Nissan Stadium on December 9 for a luncheon, where the winner will be announced.
