Bryce Underwood’s first college start is this Saturday against New Mexico. But here’s the thing people are already talking about: his off-field move this week. Valiant Management Group announced that officially licensed NIL jerseys are now available. Part of those profits will funnel into Detroit youth programs.
Supporting Detroit’s Youth
He is making a genuine effort to support Detroit’s youth, with proceeds from his jersey sales directed toward education, sports, community programs, and personal development programs for local kids. Hailing from nearby Belleville, Bryce Underwood is no stranger to the area. He’s Michigan’s big recruit now, starting quarterback and all, but he’s still giving back to the neighborhood that raised him. Basically, he wants to make a real change in the city that made him who he is.
A Dream Come True at Michigan
Michigan football was the destination he had always aspired to. He committed to coaching Sherrone Moore last year and immediately started working on merch deals. Teamed up with Champions Circle and Valiant Management Group for t-shirts and trading cards earlier this year. Fans went nuts preordering everything instantly shows how hyped people are about this hometown kid stepping up.
Bryce Underwood keeps saying how playing here means everything to him; he personally plans to leave it all on the field for the team and fans alike. Anyway, if we look at it, that jersey sale move just proves he’s thinking bigger than football already, which all the fans respect. It honestly feels like just the start for this kid.
Winning the Starting Job
That Michigan quarterback situation was totally up in the air before the season started. The competition closed with freshman Bryce Underwood earning the role over Jake Garcia and Mikey Keene. Coach Sherrone Moore kept talking up how hard Underwood worked for the position. Basically said he wasn’t just given anything. Other guys like Jadyn Davis apparently showed promise, too, during camp, though.
Bryce Underwood will make his first start this Saturday against New Mexico at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC. He already has a three-million-dollar NIL deal, and people are paying attention nationally. Plus, he does charity work off-field, too, which kind of shows he’s not just about football stats.
