Dr. Derichard McCoy is a faculty member in the Department of Health and Sport Management at Benedict College. His teaching and research focus on sport finance, governance, and athlete development systems within intercollegiate athletics.

He is the creator of the Football Development Lifecycle Inequality Framework (FDLIF), which examines how institutional decision-making, access, and validation processes shape athlete outcomes across the football pipeline. His work addresses issues related to recruiting, competitive balance, and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

Dr. McCoy’s scholarship and professional engagement center on advancing ethical, transparent, and data-informed approaches to sport management and athlete opportunity.
