2026 NFL Draft
The Way Too Early Draft Predictions For The Tennessee Titans
The 2025 season was a challenging one for the Tennessee Titans, reflected in their position near the top of the NFL Draft order. Injuries, roster inconsistencies, and a lack of explosive playmakers defined much of the year. However, the final stretch of the season offered legitimate optimism, as the Titans began to compete more consistently behind rookie quarterback Cam Ward, showing improved offensive rhythm and overall fight despite the losses.
With the No. 4 overall pick and substantial financial flexibility heading into the offseason, Tennessee has a rare opportunity to accelerate its rebuild. The following positions represent the Titans’ most pressing needs as they look to build on late-season momentum and turn competitiveness into wins.
Defensive Backs (Cornerback and Safety)
The Titans’ secondary struggled throughout the 2025 season, particularly in coverage consistency and limiting explosive plays. Injuries and uneven performances exposed a lack of true difference makers on the back end, especially at safety where range and ball skills were inconsistent. As the team improved late in the year, it became clear that upgrading the secondary is critical to sustaining defensive success and closing games against AFC competition.
Wide Receiver 1
Tennessee’s rookie wide receivers showed promise, but the offense lacked a true number one option who could consistently command coverage and create offense on his own. Calvin Ridley’s health inconsistencies further highlighted the absence of a dependable WR1. As Cam Ward settled in late in the season, the need for a dominant, reliable pass catcher became even more apparent, particularly in third down and red zone situations.
Edge Pass Rusher
Jeffery Simmons delivered an elite season on the interior, routinely disrupting opposing offensive lines. However, the Titans failed to complement his dominance with consistent edge pressure. Arden Key battled injuries and did not reach his expected impact, while the opposite edge position was largely ineffective. Whether Tennessee transitions to a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme under new leadership, a true outside pass rusher is essential to unlocking the full potential of the defensive front.
Realistic Targets at No. 4 Based on Needs
Caleb Downs, S, Ohio State
A true impact safety with elite range, instincts, and leadership qualities. Downs would immediately upgrade the secondary and give the Titans the flexibility to disguise coverages and play more aggressively up front.
Rueben Bain Jr., EDGE, Miami
A powerful edge defender who wins with both speed and strength. Bain fits multiple defensive fronts and would take pressure off Simmons by forcing offenses to account for a legitimate outside threat.
David Bailey, EDGE, Texas Tech
An explosive sack producer with an elite first step and strong finishing ability. Bailey provides the pure edge juice Tennessee lacked throughout the season and projects as a consistent double digit sack threat.
Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State
A polished receiver with size, vertical ability, and red zone production. Tate profiles as a true WR1 who can stretch the field, stabilize the passing game, and accelerate Cam Ward’s development.
As the Titans look ahead to the 2026 NFL Draft, the combination of a top five pick, significant cap space, and late season growth provides a clear path forward. The challenge now is identifying the right cornerstone player who can help turn competitive flashes into sustained success.
