Arizona Cardinals

Founded in 1898 in Chicago, the Cardinals are the oldest continuously operating professional football franchise in the U.S. They moved to St. Louis in 1960 and then to Arizona in 1988. The franchise won its only NFL Championship in 1947 and made a memorable Super Bowl run in XLIII (2009), falling just short against the Steelers.

Atlanta Falcons

Founded in 1966, the Falcons are Atlanta's flagship NFL team. They gained fame during their "Dirty Bird" era of the late '90s, reaching Super Bowl XXXIII. Their 2017 season saw them reach Super Bowl LI with a 28–3 lead that became one of the most famous comebacks in sports history. They play at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens were established in 1996 when the Cleveland Browns relocated to Baltimore. Named after Edgar Allan Poe's famous poem, the franchise quickly built a winning culture. They won Super Bowl XXXV (2001) behind an all-time defense and Super Bowl XLVII (2013) with Ray Lewis and Joe Flacco.

Buffalo Bills

Founded in 1960 in the AFL, the Bills are the pride of Western New York. They made history by appearing in four consecutive Super Bowls from 1991–1994, a feat unmatched in NFL history, though they fell short each time. "Bills Mafia" is one of the most passionate fanbases in the league, and the team has re-emerged as an AFC powerhouse.

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers joined the NFL as an expansion franchise in 1995 and quickly found success. They reached Super Bowl XXXVIII in just their 9th season and made another run in Super Bowl 50 (2016), led by MVP quarterback Cam Newton. They play at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC.

Chicago Bears

One of the NFL's founding franchises, the Bears were established in 1920 as the Decatur Staleys. George Halas built a legendary organization with nine NFL Championships. Their iconic 1985 Super Bowl XX championship squad, led by Mike Ditka and the "46 Defense," is considered one of the greatest teams in NFL history.

Cincinnati Bengals

Founded in 1968 by legendary coach Paul Brown, the Bengals are known for their distinctive tiger-stripe uniforms. They reached Super Bowls XVI (1982) and XXIII (1989) before a long playoff drought. A resurgence led by Joe Burrow brought them back to Super Bowl LVI in 2022, losing narrowly to the Rams.

Cleveland Browns

Founded in 1946 and named after legendary coach Paul Brown, the Browns are one of four NFL franchises never to appear in a Super Bowl. The original team relocated to Baltimore in 1996 and became the Ravens. The Browns were re-established in 1999 and remain a beloved franchise with a passionate blue-collar fanbase in Cleveland.

Dallas Cowboys

Founded in 1960, the Cowboys are "America's Team" — a nickname earned by their widespread national following. With five Super Bowl victories, legendary coaches like Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson, and Hall of Famers like Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman, and Michael Irvin, Dallas is the most valuable sports franchise in the world. They play at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.

Denver Broncos

Founded in 1960 as an AFL charter member, the Broncos have three Super Bowl championships — back-to-back in Super Bowls XXXII and XXXIII (1998–1999) under John Elway, and Super Bowl 50 (2016) behind Peyton Manning's final season and an elite defense. They play at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver.

Detroit Lions

Founded in 1930, the Lions won four NFL Championships in the 1930s–1950s and have historically been one of the league's most resilient fanbases. They are the only NFC team never to appear in a Super Bowl. Despite years of struggle, the Lions have re-emerged as a legitimate contender under Dan Campbell, winning the hearts of Detroit in a new era.

Green Bay Packers

Founded in 1919, the Packers are the only community-owned non-profit franchise in major American professional sports. With 13 NFL Championships and 4 Super Bowl titles, they are one of the most storied franchises in football history. Legends like Vince Lombardi, Bart Starr, Brett Favre, and Aaron Rodgers have called Lambeau Field home.

Houston Texans

The Texans joined the NFL in 2002 as the league's 32nd and most recent expansion franchise. Playing at NRG Stadium in Houston, they quickly built a competitive team and won their first AFC South division title in 2011. Led by emerging young stars, the Texans represent a passionate football market and are a growing force in the AFC.

Indianapolis Colts

Originally the Baltimore Colts (founded 1953), the franchise famously relocated to Indianapolis overnight in 1984. They won Super Bowl V (1971) as the Baltimore Colts and Super Bowl XLI (2007) in Indianapolis, led by Peyton Manning. Johnny Unitas, one of the greatest QBs of all time, defined the franchise's early legacy.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Established as an expansion team in 1995, the Jaguars immediately shocked the league by reaching the AFC Championship game in just their second season. They nearly reached the Super Bowl again in 1997. The franchise has had ups and downs but remains a key part of the AFC South and plays at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, FL.

Kansas City Chiefs

Founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans in the AFL, the Chiefs won the AFL Championship in 1962 and Super Bowl IV (1970). Decades later, Patrick Mahomes ushered in a new dynasty — the Chiefs have won multiple Super Bowls in the 2020s, including back-to-back championships, cementing their place among the greatest NFL dynasties of all time.

Las Vegas Raiders

Founded in 1960 in Oakland, the Raiders built a renegade identity under Al Davis with three Super Bowl victories (XI, XV, XVIII). One of the most iconic brands in all of sports, the Raiders relocated to Las Vegas in 2020 and now play at the stunning Allegiant Stadium. Their "Just Win, Baby" motto remains a rallying cry for the Raider Nation.

Los Angeles Chargers

Founded in 1960 in Los Angeles, the Chargers were a founding AFL franchise who won the AFL Championship in 1963. They spent decades in San Diego before returning to Los Angeles in 2017. Known for exciting offenses and near-misses in the playoffs, the Chargers play alongside the Rams at SoFi Stadium.

Los Angeles Rams

Founded in 1936 in Cleveland, the Rams moved to Los Angeles, then St. Louis, then back to LA in 2016. They won Super Bowl XXXIV (2000) with "The Greatest Show on Turf" and Super Bowl LVI (2022) in their home stadium, SoFi Stadium, completing one of the most satisfying championship runs in recent memory.

Miami Dolphins

Founded in 1966, the Dolphins are the only NFL team to complete a perfect season, going 17–0 in 1972 under Don Shula and winning Super Bowl VII. They backed it up with another championship in Super Bowl VIII. Hall of Famers Dan Marino, Larry Csonka, and Bob Griese are among the franchise legends. They play at Hard Rock Stadium.

Minnesota Vikings

Founded in 1961, the Vikings have one of the most loyal fanbases in the NFL despite never winning a Super Bowl — they have four appearances (1970, 1974, 1975, 1977 seasons) without a victory. Legends like Fran Tarkenton, Carl Eller, Randy Moss, and Adrian Peterson have worn purple and gold. They now play at the state-of-the-art U.S. Bank Stadium.

New England Patriots

Founded in 1960 as the Boston Patriots, the Patriots became the most dominant dynasty in modern NFL history under head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady. Together they won six Super Bowl championships (2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017, 2019). No franchise has won more Super Bowls in the salary-cap era.

New Orleans Saints

Founded in 1967, the Saints endured decades of losing before Drew Brees, Sean Payton, and the "Who Dat Nation" lifted New Orleans to its first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XLIV (2010) — just five years after Hurricane Katrina devastated the city. That championship remains one of the most emotional moments in NFL history. They play at Caesars Superdome.

New York Giants

One of the NFL's oldest franchises, founded in 1925, the Giants have four Super Bowl victories. Their iconic upsets over the undefeated New England Patriots in Super Bowls XLII and XLVI, both led by Eli Manning, rank among the greatest upsets in sports history. Hall of Famers Lawrence Taylor, Phil Simms, and Michael Strahan defined the franchise.

New York Jets

Founded in 1960 as the New York Titans, the Jets won Super Bowl III (1969) when Joe Namath famously guaranteed a victory over the heavily favored Baltimore Colts. It remains one of the most shocking upsets in sports history and helped legitimize the AFL. The Jets have been chasing that magic ever since, playing at MetLife Stadium.

Philadelphia Eagles

Founded in 1933, the Eagles are backed by one of the loudest and most passionate fanbases in all of sports. After years of heartbreak, they won Super Bowl LII (2018) with backup QB Nick Foles defeating Tom Brady and the Patriots. Known for their "underdog" spirit, the Eagles play at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Founded in 1933, the Steelers hold the NFL record with six Super Bowl titles. The "Steel Curtain" defense of the 1970s — featuring Mean Joe Greene, Jack Lambert, and Jack Ham — is considered the greatest defense in NFL history. The team has never relocated and remains a symbol of working-class toughness in Pittsburgh. They play at Acrisure Stadium.

San Francisco 49ers

Founded in 1946, the 49ers dominated the 1980s and early '90s with five Super Bowl championships. The dynasty of Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Ronnie Lott, and Steve Young produced the greatest offensive system of their era — the West Coast Offense. They play at Levi's Stadium and remain one of the NFC's most competitive franchises.

Seattle Seahawks

Founded in 1976, the Seahawks rose to prominence under Pete Carroll with the legendary "Legion of Boom" defense. They dominated the 2010s, winning Super Bowl XLVIII (2014) by 35 points and reaching Super Bowl XLIX. Russell Wilson's era defined a new era of Seattle football. CenturyLink Field (now Lumen Field) is considered one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Founded in 1976, the Buccaneers went 0–14 in their inaugural season but eventually won Super Bowl XXXVII (2003) with Jon Gruden's dominant defense. Their second championship, Super Bowl LV (2021), came when Tom Brady signed as a free agent and led the Bucs to a dominant 31–9 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in their home stadium.

Tennessee Titans

Originally founded in 1960 as the Houston Oilers, a founding member of the AFL, the franchise relocated to Tennessee in 1997 and became the Titans in 1999. They reached Super Bowl XXXIV (2000) in just their second year as the Titans, losing on the final play by inches — the iconic "One Yard Short" moment. In 2024, the Titans unveiled a bold new identity, including a striking new circular logo symbolizing a new era of Titans football. They play at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN.

Washington Commanders

Founded in 1932, this franchise has three Super Bowl victories (1983, 1988, 1992 seasons) under legendary coach Joe Gibbs. They were known as the Redskins for most of their history before rebranding to the Washington Football Team in 2020 and then the Washington Commanders in 2022. Hall of Famers like Darrell Green, Art Monk, and John Riggins shaped the franchise's storied legacy.
