Latrell McCutchin is a true boundary corner standing at 6 ‘1”, 185 lbs. McCutchin uses his long arms and physicality to win his 1v1 matchup in press coverage. McCutchin plays with a feet-first mindset, making sure he is on top of the release before he strikes his hands, a rarity for a younger physical corner. He can improve his top-of-the-route phase, as he can get handsy, but McCuthin’s press technique is above average, and is ultimately his greatest skill set.
In off coverage, McCutchin displays fluid transitions from backpedal to crossover-run, keeping his top shoulder down as he gets out breaks. His pedal is smooth, and he plays with a good pad level. From a backpedal, McCutchin can come downhill in the run game and tackle, closing space quickly. McCuthin is also a willing tackler from the cornerback position, and displaying sound fundamentals when tackling. Overall, McCuthin is an above average athlete who has the length, and speed to play boundary cornerback at the next level. Zone coverage and the top-of-route phase will need to improve for him to become a complete cornerback.
Scheme/Team Fit:
McCuthin will thrive in press-man heavy systems such as the Miami Dolphins, and New York Jets. Both teams value physical and athletic corners who can get hands on wide receivers.

McCutchin has a developmental starter upside, zone coverage instincts must improve to become a full-time starter. McCuthin grades out as a 4 out of 7, and will be a 5th round pick.
