The former JUCO product had a productive 3 years for the Utes, demonstrating above-average athleticism, physicality, and the ability to block in space. At 6’4 “, 259 lbs, Bentley has adequate size at the tight-end position. In the passing game Bentley consistently wins his 1v1 matchups vs linebackers, and is terrific at finding soft spots in zone coverage. He uses effective pressure steps at the top of his routes to move defenders off their position, and uses his body well to wall-off defenders once the ball is in the air to make contested catches in traffic. Bentley’s long arms are also very effective in jump ball situations, as he effortlessly plucks the ball from the air. As a run blocker, Bentley works effectively to the next level using efficient footwork and lateral movement. Bentley strikes with heavy hands at the point of attack, and has a high displacement rate as a drive blocker. Age might be a concern as Bentley is already 25 years old, but overall, he is a complete tight end who is fundamentally sound in the running and passing game.

Scheme/Team Fit:
Bentley is best suited for an offense that uses inline tight ends in 12 personnel operations. The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers use a good amount of 12 personnel sets, and expect their tight ends to be versatile in both run and pass situations.
