Albert Regis is a 6’1, 295-pound defensive tackle out of Texas A&M. He is a former 4-star recruit in the class of 2021. Regis was ranked as the 37th DL in the nation. He committed to Texas A&M on October 10th, 2020. He was a first-team all-district selection at TE as a junior in high school. Regis is aiming to be the first in his family to graduate. During his college career, he totaled 116 combined tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, 10 pass breakups, and 1 forced fumble. At the 2026 NFL Combine, Regis measured in having 9 ⅝ hands, 31 ⅝ arm length, 4.85 shuttle, 34 inch vertical, 116 inch broad jump, and 7.77 second 3 cone.

Regis has a compact, powerful, stocky defensive tackle build. He ran a 4.88 40-yard dash; he is quicker than he is fast. Ran a 1.72 10-yard split, he possesses a solid first step, and has impressive pursuit speed for his size. He has good anchor strength and can hold ground. Regis has very good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. He is good at keeping eyes on the QB and timing his jumps to bat the ball down at the line. His tracking ability is good, and he has great hustle. He rarely gets caught out of position.

His shorter arms make him struggle against longer offensive linemen; he doesn’t create much pressure or quarterback hurries, and his hand placement is inconsistent. His bend is marginal; he has solid power and pop. Has a solid swim move; he can consistently get off blocks; he doesn’t have many pass-rush moves; and his arms are not long enough to create meaningful separation. He has very good hustle and tracking the running back with average escape ability. He maintains good leverage and has good gap control. His patience in the run game is very good. His wrap-up is solid; he needs to aim lower on the ball carrier. Regis possesses an adequate first step; he is more of a lateral mover.

Regis is a pure run defender who can anchor a run defense. He won’t give you as much as a pass rusher. He will be a rotational player who can be good at stuffing the run. His ability to hold the point, pursue outside his gap, and disrupt passing lanes in short-yardage downs will have value at the NFL level. He will need some serious development as a pass rusher if he wants to be a three-down player. A team wanting someone who will bring immediate value in the run game, with the hope of developing his pass-rushing game, will be a good investment in the 5th round.

Scheme Fit and Team Fit: 4-3 – 3 tech DT.

Bears – The Bears run a 4-3 and are known for a strong defensive line with 3-tech defensive tackles.

Cowboys – The Cowboys run a 4-3, with 3-tech defensive tackles.

Buccaneers – The Buccaneers recently implemented a 4-3 with 3-tech defensive tackles similar to Vita Vea.

NFL Player Comp: Ponna Ford – Rams.

Both Regis and Ford are smaller defensive tackles; both have good lateral quickness and effort that carries through their assignments.

Projection: Backup/Role Player.

He is a pure run defender, which will make him usable, but if he has little to no impact in the passing game, he won’t be viewed as anything higher than a day three selection.

Grade and Round Projection: 3.87,  Mid to late Round 5 Pick
